Designing patterns is an exhilarating journey where each line and shape comes together to form a seamless and captivating work of art.

The solid design foundation that I received at UofM, paved the way for an incredible opportunity to intern at Phillip Jeffries, a leading name in the wallpaper industry. During my internship, I had the privilege of working closely with the senior designer on developing new patterns for their wallpaper collection, as well as assisting with the digital editing of a new mural (“Blossom”). One of the key projects involved a direct ask from the CEO to design a collection that was calm yet masculine.

For this project, I focused on using lines and grids to create classy, sophisticated designs. I explored various line configurations and color-ways, ensuring each pattern conveyed the desired aesthetic while maintaining harmony and balance. I used my research into the color trends for the upcoming year (2023), incorporating subdued lavender, honeycomb, tranquil blues, and light sandy colors into the designs.
