2D | Visual Design
My 2D visual design work encompasses drawing, painting, printmaking, and creating unique digital compositions, primarily through collages in Photoshop and drawings in Procreate. A distinctive aspect of my process is that every element in my work comes from my own photographs—I almost never use other people's images. This practice ensures that each piece is deeply personal, reflecting my own experiences and perspectives.
I focus on fundamental 2D design concepts such as composition, color theory, and balance to create visually compelling work. By integrating my own imagery, I infuse authenticity and a personal connection into my art. My goal is to craft work that is not only original but also emotionally resonant, using design principles to enhance the narrative and impact of each piece.
I've always believed in the saying that every artist must first master the foundational rules of their craft to earn the right to break them later. Understanding the principles of design, composition, and technique provides a solid base from which creative innovation can flourish. Only by knowing the rules inside and out can artists effectively challenge and transcend them, creating work that is both groundbreaking and deeply informed. I am grateful that this is precisely the experience I had at Stamps, where I learned the essential skills that now allow me to push the boundaries of my art.
